Contents of Monument


The Republic of Korea has built a monument here to commemorate noble sacrifice and brilliant achievement of the Sons of US and pray for their souls.


ROK/US Marine Corps Monument

Location
Deokyanggu, Goyangsi
Date of Construction
28 Sep 1958 (rebuilt on 20 Sep 1984)

Purpose

The ROK/ US Joint Marine Corps played an integral role in recapturing Seoul with the Han River crossing operation. Therefore to commemorate their brilliant services, the monument was built on 28 Sept 1958. The Marine Corps Headquarters reconstructed the monument on 28 Sept 1984.

Monument of the 2nd Division

Purpose

The monument was built to pray for noble sacrifice and brilliant achievements made by the men from the 2nd Infantry Division, of the US Army and to those who died to protect the freedom in a foreign country.


Monument of the Marine Corps

Jorimyon, Pajusi
Date of Construction
15 Apr 1964 (rebuilt in Oct 1984)

Purpose

The Marine Corps Headquarters have built a monument to pray for their spirit and brilliant achievements made by the ROK and US Marine Corps soldiers who fought bravely at the Korean War.
