This observation post is located in the western part of Korea near the southern boundary of the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ). It is an important post used by the Republic of Korea(ROK) to monitor North Korean Army troop movements. It is manned 24 hours a day by armed solders of ROK.

From there, you can have a close look at soldiers of ROK responsible for defending our nation against North Korean attack. From this observatory to the left, you can see Mt. Kaesung, Panmunjum, Unification Village, and the 1.21 infiltration place used by the North. To the right you can see
the tomb of King Kungsun, the last ruler of silla kingdom in 8th the century, Horo castle, and to the front, you can observe a North Korean guard post and soldiers of the North Korean Army(KPA).

As a facility for visitors, there is a briefing space accommodating approximately 90 people on the first floor and an outdoor observatory on the second floor. From there, you can see North Korea through binoculars.
Administratively, this observatory is in Younchun, Kyouggi Province.
However, as it is under military control, there are many restrictions for civilian visitors. If you would like to join a tour, the military requires you to have a background check at least 24 hours in advance of the tour and it's the only available through our company
