Lee Dong-Joon, Pravda’s Correspondent to North Korea signaled to Kei, a reporter with UPI his intention for defection when the 96th Military Armistice Commission was held. Kei reported such intention to the South Korean officer on duty and silently ushered Lee to the duty officer’s office to change him into a US military uniform. He defected safely in a disguised transportation.
